On July 7, 2009, new B.C. Supreme Court Family Rules and revised schedule of fees were announced by the B.C. Government. The new rules and fees will come into force on July 1, 2010.

The new rules were developed through extensive research and a broad consultation, carried out by the Justice Review Task Force. The rules were then reviewed and finalized after a thorough review by the Rules Revision Committee, a committee of senior judges, experienced private sector lawyers and others.

During the months leading up to implementation of the new rules, training courses will be scheduled for justice system professionals.
